Zens 1909

Built in 1909 as the Citizens State Bank, on the corner of Garitty and Front. Leveled by the tornado that took the town in 1930 — but the vault held, and the tile floor survived beneath the rubble. Rebuilt within the year, on the same foundation, around the same vault.

Most of the letters in that floor have worn away since. What is still readable is ZENS 1909.

We didn't name this place. The floor did.
